Walter Frederick Morrison at Creekside Disc Golf Course Matchup

Course Description:
The disc golf course at Creekside Park was first established in 1982 and is one of the first 50 disc golf courses in existence. The course has been officially renamed the "Walter Fredrick Morrison Disc Golf Course at Creekside". This renaming was done during the Creekside Open Disc Golf tournament that was held on May 15th and 16th, 2004. Walter Fredrick Morrison is the person who first invented and patented the plastic flying disc and he was in attendance during the renaming ceremony. Walter is a resident of Richfield, Utah. The process of renaming the park in Walter's honor was orchestrated by the nice people at Colonial Flag in Sandy, Utah. A flag pole and a stone monument were donated and installed at the park as part of the ceremony. The discatcher on each hole in the course could be located in any one of three different positions. So there is a lot of variety to how the course plays. The pins are relocated many times during the course of the year. There are also 2 bonus holes. 3a and 3b.

Course Location:
Creekside Park is located about twenty minutes from downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. The address of the park is 1650 E Murray-Holladay Road (4800 South), just west of the Cottonwood Mall.
